I have eight years of off-road driving experience with unconventional AWD vehicles, tackling conditions typically reserved for true 4WD systems. My approach has always focused on educating drivers and enhancing their skills, emphasising adaptability and making the most of their vehicle’s capabilities. Working with what you have and driving according to both the conditions and the limits of the driver and vehicle is the best way to learn.
In 2018, I launched the YouTube channel “All Terrain Action” to showcase my off-road driving methodology. Since then, I’ve become an active member of a 4WD club and have attracted over 11,000 unique Australian viewers across various social platforms, including YouTube.
Building on this foundation, I’m now applying the same methodology to electric vehicles by introducing a new brand, “All Terrain EV” (ATE), formerly known as “All Terrain Action EV” (ATAEV). My goal is to demonstrate that the future of off-road technology is here. By providing practical examples, I aim to show how we can harness this new technology within our off-road ecosystem.
For a deeper understanding of my off-road driving techniques, you might find this video from my channel insightful. It highlights how older style off-road vehicles use traction control-based systems to maintain grip, even with uncoupled front and rear axles – a concept reminiscent of how AWD systems have operated in the past and how this similar theory can be applied to electric first vehicles on the track.
